Come and enjoy the fire and passion of live tango music. There will be ample space for dancing, so bring some friends — or simply sit back and enjoy the exciting rhythms of rich emotions of Buenos Aires in central Camberley!

The EL CHAMUYO quartet performs a wide sweep of Argentinian tango music, ranging from golden era of the 1920s and ’30s, through to the tango nuevo masterpieces of Piazzolla, and on to a few contemporary composers. While respecting the tradition, El Chamuyo also takes this repertoire as a starting point for improvisation, blurring the boundaries between tango and jazz in exciting and innovative ways. Not forgetting that this music is rooted in dance, the quartet regularly performs at milongas for tango dancers.

El Chamuyo Quartet has played at Café POSK, The Green Note, South Hill Park, Toulouse-Lautrec, Jamboree, and as far as Aberdeen, Havant, Swansea and Margate.

The quartet features virtuoso violinist Kamila Bydlowska, jazz pianist Adam Dyer, Argentinian double bass player Juampi Mauro, and Simon Cook on bandoneón.
