Kew practica

We seem to have tapped into a well of interest in tango in and around Kew in South West London. We have both talked to a lot of people who are interested and many have approached us about it.

We ran the first taster session on March 19th and it was much enjoyed. As a result, we have added two more dates for ‘taster sessions’.

The sessions involve a beginner’s class at 7:30pm for an hour and a half then an open dance floor from 9.00pm until late (minimum 11.00pm)

The next scheduled sessions are all on a Thursday evening: 9th 16th and 23rd April.

The plan is, if these taster sessions turn out to be popular, to then run similar sessions on a regular, ongoing basis.

The key element is that it should be fun and social. Thus, we are encouraging people to bring a bottle and snacks (there are facilities (chairs, tables, glases, crockery, etc) at the church hall but we can’t sell alcohol or food). Of course there will be lots of friends and neighbours from Kew there, but we really welcome any/everybody who has an interest in tango to join us.

Also, we are particularly keen to provide a place in South West London for existing tango dancers to have a dance floor for a few hours a week. It is only £5 to come to the Milonga at 9pm to dance, and we hope this will provide an easy and cheap venue for people who want to dance but don’t want to go all the way into Central London.

There is an email address for contacting Kew Tango which is KewTango@owain.com

The milongas take place at the Church Hall, St Anne’s, 31 Kew Green, Richmond TW9 3AA
