Let’s Jubilate

A magical weekend of celebratory dance touring the influences brought to the UK from the advent of the first Windrush ship in June 1948, alongside the Queen’s seventy years on the throne – where more than one new tempting beat came to sweep us off our feet from the Americas, and has taken us on new cultural journeys through music, food and dance. Let’s Jubilate celebrates multicultural Britain and looks at the stories behind the rhythms that have come to be part of mainstream social dance culture, starting with the explosion of Tango, its return to the UK and Kent in the 90s and Calypso, and its legacy.
Expect workshops & social dancing, one day devoted to Tango and another day for Calypso, Samba, Bossa Nova & Mambo with live music, DJ’s, food, drinks and more!
