From inspiring workshops and vibrant milongas to spectacular performances and a unique Halloween celebration, Reading Tango Festival brings together everything we love about Argentine Tango in one welcoming weekend.

Friday 30 October
- Control, Stability and Balance 19:00 – 20:30 Improvers – Erik & Nadia. Explore how to maintain control, stability and balance as you move between different tango elements. Develop smoother transitions and greater confidence while staying connected to your partner.
- Introduction to Tango Fantasía (Stage Tango) 19:00 – 20:30 Intermediate – Juan & Natasha. Discover the expressive world of Tango Escenario and explore how social tango can expand into more dynamic, theatrical movement. Work with performance concepts, technique and expression to bring greater freedom and impact to your dancing.
- Milonga Bienvenida 20:30 – 00:30 4 hours of social dancing in the beautiful Richard’s Hall with refreshments. Ronda de Maestros! Shoes and clothes for sale.
Saturday 31 October
- Barridas: Technique & Possibilities 12:30 – 14:00 – Juan & Natasha – Improvers. Explore the technique and principles behind barridas and how they arise naturally within the dance. Discover different possibilities for creating and responding to foot sweeps while maintaining connection and flow.
- Movement with Density 12:30 – 14:00 – Dante & Chris – Intermediate. Explore how to create richer, more grounded movement through control, intention and connection. Discover how weight and body awareness can bring greater depth and expression to your tango.
- Matinee Milonga – 14:00 – 18:00 – DJ Bruno Mayo. Four hours of social dancing in the bright Hardcastle Hall. Refreshments available to keep you going!
- Followers’ Technique – 18:00 – 19:30 – Nadia Aguilar – All Levels. Develop balance, control and freedom of movement through exercises designed specifically for followers. Refine your posture, pivots and coordination to bring greater confidence and expression to your dancing.
- Leaders’ Technique – 18:00 – 19:30 – Erik Deslarmes – All Levels. A dedicated session to develop greater control, balance and precision in the leader’s movement. Refine your posture, coordination and technique to create clearer, more comfortable dancing.
- Halloween Gala Milonga – 20:00 – 00:30 – DJ TBC. An unforgettable night celebrating Halloween – costumes optional but recommended! 4 hours of social dancing in the beautiful Richard’s Hall. Refreshments available. Performance by the Maestros.
Sunday 1 November
- Giros: Technique and Variations – 14:30 – 16:00 – Juan & Natasha – Improvers. Explore the fundamental mechanics of giros and how leader and follower work together throughout the turn. Develop greater control, fluidity and confidence while discovering different possibilities within the giro.
- Complex Tango Sequences – 14:30 – 16:00 – Erik & Nadia – Intermediate. Challenge your coordination, connection and musicality through more complex combinations of tango movements. Explore how different elements can be linked fluidly while maintaining clarity, control and quality of movement.
- Farewell Matinee – 16:00 – 20:00 – DJ TBC. End the weekend on a high! We gather once again in the beautiful Hardcastle Hall for our last embraces. 4 hours of dancing with refreshments available.

Elegant, musical and deeply connected, Erik and Nadia are among the most exciting young tango couples of their generation. Finalists at the Tango World Championship in Buenos Aires, they combine refined technique with a warm, engaging teaching style that inspires dancers of every level.
Natasha Kaliszuk and Juan Braida
Combining contemporary elegance with a deep respect for traditional tango, Natasha and Juan have become one of Buenos Aires’ most exciting emerging partnerships. Their dynamic performances and thoughtful teaching make them a favourite wherever they appear.
